Ana Gonçalves is a lecturer in English language and culture at the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies and a Senior Researcher in the Tourism, Culture and Space (TERRiTUR) research group at the Centre for Geographical Studies, Institute for Geography and Spatial Planning, University of Lisbon. In 2013 she was awarded a European PhD with a thesis on the cultural and social reinvention of Cardiff (Wales) in recent decades. Her research interests include English for tourism purposes, cultural studies, urban sociology and cultural geography, leisure, and consumption.

Professor no Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto do Instituto Politécnico do Porto, onde está ligado ao ensino da Tradução desde 1998. É doutorado em Linguística, na especialidade de Lexicologia, Lexicografia e Terminologia, na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da UNL e mestre em Terminologia e Tradução, pela Faculdade de Letras da UP. É investigador no Centro de Investigação em Comunicação e Educação (CICE) e investigador no INESC TEC (antes INESC Porto) – Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores do Porto, na Unidade de Engenharia de Sistemas de Produção – na área de Redes de Cooperação Empresarial e Redes Colaborativas. É, também, investigador convidado no CINAMIL – Centro de Investigação da Academia Militar do Exército Português.

Manuel Silva, IP Porto

María’s PhD (2011) on metalinguistics, writing and constructive error perception commemorated 20 years in Europe. Her undergrad work in French and Contemporary International Relations (UC Berkeley 1984-88) included an honor's thesis on immigrant language education in the California Community Colleges while her Master's in Applied Linguistics (UC Davis 1989-1991) was based on further work with the California Department of Education. Teaching at UC Davis, in Madrid, and Oporto preceded her current work at the School of Technology and Management at the Polytechnic Instituto of Guarda. Elected president of the Portuguese Association of Foreign Language Teachers in HE (Aprolínguas) in 2004 and in 2009 she co-founded the Network of Language Centers in Portuguese HE (ReCLes.pt). Publications in teaching methodologies and learning strategies, metacognition, and CLIL-ILCHE.

María del Carmen A. Ribeiro, IP Guarda

Sofia possède un doctorat (Ph.D) en Langue, Littérature et Culture - Études Littéraires Comparées (2014), un Master en Langues et Littératures Romanes (1999) et une post-maîtrise en Didactiques des Langues – Portugais/Français (1998) de L’Universidade Nova - Lisbonne. Ayant vécu en France, elle a obtenu une Maîtrise de Lettres Modernes (jumelée à celle de Langue Étrangère Appliquée - Portugais) à l’Université de La Sorbonne Nouvelle (1994). Sofia enseigne le Portugais et, surtout, le Français à l’Instituto Politécnico de Tomar depuis 1999. Responsable du Département des Langues Étrangères pendant 11 ans, elle est membre de plusieurs Conseils de son établissement. En 2007, elle a créé le Centre de Langues ʺcl.iptʺ et a été cofondatrice de l’Association Portugaise des Centres de Langue de l’enseignement Supérieur (ReCles.pt) en 2009. Ses dernières recherches portent sur la réception critique d’œuvres françaises et leurs traductions et adaptions.

Regina Mügge is the manager of the Language Centre of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg where she introduced the German university language certificate UNIcert® and where teaches French, Italian and Spanish. She is an active member of the permanent committee of the German Association of Language Centres AKS (Arbeitskreis der Sprachenzentren e.V.) and has been treasurer for 6 years. She also edited the AKS Conference publication of 2012. She is especially interested in plurilingualism, has been cooperating in the CercleS focus group on Language Policy since 2010 and is its present coordinator. She participates as a disseminator in the European Tandem Project "Seagull".

Manuel Célio Conceição, Universidade do Algarve

David Owen is head of the translation unit at the Language Service, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Catalonia, Spain, and a lecturer in English Literature in the Department of English, Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, at the same university. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh (MA) and the UAB (M.Phil; PhD), David has worked as a language teacher, teacher trainer, translator, interpreter and lecturer. His publications in the ambit of translation and language focus on translation in EFL and linguistic imperialism; in the ambit of literary studies, his research is principally concerned with English novelistic fiction from the late eighteenth century.

Carmen Argondizzo is Professor of English Linguistics at the University of Calabria (Italy) where she teaches students majoring in Economics, Business Administration and Political Science. Her research interests focus on discourse analysis in the field of Language for Special Purposes and the related pedagogical implications, considered through a humanistic perspective. She is President of the Language Centre where she coordinates European projects aimed at enhancing students’ autonomous learning in the academic and professional sectors. One project, in particular, has been awarded the European Language Label of Labels Award (www.cmceproject.it 2012) by the European Commission as ‘best practice’ in the promotion of multilingualism and multiculturalism in the enterprise sector. Her most recent publication Creativity and Innovation in Language Education appears in the Peter Lang Linguistic Insights series.
