Miguel JúdiceIs CEO of the Thema Hotels group and Executive Coordinator (Tourism) at Universidade Europeia. He is the former President of the Associação de Hotelaria de Portugal (Portuguese Hotels Association) and Portuguese Ambassador of the European Party Caterers Association. He has more than 15 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality businesses. He has an academic background in Business Administration (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) and a Master in Hospitality from Cornell University.
Short summary of presentation Proficiency in foreign languages is essential for successful professional performance, especially in the tourism sector. Miguel Júdice will share his experience at this level as a people manager and as a professional in the sector. |

Marta AragãoIs the President of the Portuguese Association of Translation Companies (www.apet.pt), the Portuguese Representative at the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (www.euatc.org). With BAs in Translation Studies and Specialised Translation and more than 15 years experience in the field, she is the founder and manager of Inpokulis Translations (www.inpokulis.pt) and A Taste of It (www.atasteofit.pt), a company specialised in multilingual IT solutions for the tourism industry. She was also a Board Member of ANJE Algarve (the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs) and a Specialist Lecturer at the University of the Algarve. Short summary of presentation Translating the world Globalisation is a trend. And languages feed this trend. In this session we shall discuss the industry of languages and the role of translation in the process of globalisation. How was the industry 20 years ago and how it has evolved in the most recent years. How will it be in the future?
